ODM Vice Secretary General and also Busia Woman Representative, Catherine Omanyo, has brushed off allegations that the party has lost its popularity in the recent days following its post-election coalition agreement with UDA to form a broad-based government.
Speaking at Butula after receiving over 35 members who defected from UDA, DAP-K and MDG parties, Omanyo stressed on the need to strengthen the party from grassroots to boost its fan base support and enhance party loyalty.
Her sentiment comes after former Governor Sospeter Ojaamong and the former County MP; Florence Mutua said the party was losing touch with the people of Busia even as they urged the resident to reconsider other options.
While responding to the remarks, Omanyo slammed the two former party leaders for not being grateful to the party which placed them on the political map.
She further challenged the president to mean his words on the fight against corruption drafts if at all he meant his words.
