Ruto confident broad-based gov’t will fulfill expectations of Kenyans

The broad-based government of national unity will deliver the much-needed economic transformation to Kenyans, President William Ruto has said.

The Head of State said that the new cabinet brings together people with divergent yet progressive views on how to take Kenya forward.

“Recently, I formed a government that brings us all together,” he said on Wednesday at Kanyuambora, Mbeere North constituency, during a tour of development projects in Embu County.

“Even those who opposed me, I have told them to come we explore ways and means of getting money, taxes and paying debts.” noted the President

He was accompanied by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Embu County Governor Cecily Mbarire, and a host of MPs and principal secretaries.

DP Gachagua thanked the President for returning former Attorney General Justin Muturi to the Cabinet as CS-nominee for the Public Service, Performance, and Delivery Management docket.

“The President is leading us well, and he has returned to thank you (for electing him),” said the DP as he addressed wananchi at Kanyuambora.

Earlier in Runyenjes, he launched the tarmacking of the 25-Kilometre Rukuriri-Kathageri-Kanyuambora Road that will further Embu’s agricultural vibrancy, unlock its economic potential and improve livelihoods.

He also launched the construction of the Iriari Irrigation Project which will create more than 5,000 jobs in the county. In Mbeere North Constituency, the President launched the tarmacking of the 42-kilometreKanyuambora-Kamomo-Kageri/ Muvakari-Kanyuambora/ Gachoka-Gachuriri/Kangeta-Kiumbu-ini roads.

Highlighting the benefits of his foreign trips to the country, the President pointed out that the KSh 2.7 billion road project is being financed by money he sourced during his trip to China in October 2023.He also inaugurated the KSh281 million Kanyuambora Irrigation Project, which will put 1000acres of land under irrigation.

More than 1250 farmers will benefit directly from the project being undertaken by the National Irrigation Authority, while 10,000 others are anticipated to benefit indirectly.
