A suspected drug trafficker was arrested, and a consignment of cocaine was seized during an operation in Northern Kenya, authorities have reported.
According to the police, the suspect was apprehended while in possession of cocaine intended for trafficking.
“A multi-agency team has arrested suspected drug trafficker Jane Njeri Muigai in Moyale, Marsabit County. The 28-year-old was found with 294g of cocaine hidden in her private part,” stated the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
According to the police, the arrest occurred at a roadblock manned by security officers, who intercepted a bus travelling from Moyale to Nairobi.
“Female law enforcers, noticing suspicious behaviour, conducted a thorough search that confirmed their suspicions,” the DCI reported.
The suspect has been detained at Moyale police station, with anti-narcotics officers now taking charge to initiate legal proceedings.
