Kenyan rapper and entrepreneur King Kaka is set to debut a new cooking show called Let Him Cook, on Monday, May 19, 2025, on his official YouTube channel.
The show, produced by Kaka Empire in collaboration with Bio Food Products Ltd and supported by Highlands Drinks Ltd and Ma Cuisine Ltd, will feature weekly episodes highlighting food, culture, and personal storytelling.
Each episode will include a celebrity guest from Kenya’s entertainment, creative, or business sectors, engaging in conversations while preparing meals.
According to the producers, the show aims to challenge common stereotypes about gender roles in kitchens while promoting authentic Kenyan narratives through food.
It blends elements of a cooking show, talk show, and cultural documentation.
“This is not just a cooking show. It is a space where culture, conversation, and creativity meet in the kitchen,” said King Kaka during the official launch event. “We are telling our stories through food, and I am excited to do that with brands that value quality, health, and authenticity.”
The launch event took place at the headquarters of Bio Food Products Ltd in Nairobi and featured a preview screening, product tastings, and a factory tour.
The official signing of the partnership agreement between the artist and the brand collaborators concluded the event.
Joachim Westerveld, Group CEO of Bio Foods, Highlands, and Ma Cuisine, said the show is aligned with the company’s commitment to quality and local sourcing.
“Now more than ever, it matters who makes your food and how it’s made,” Westerveld said. “We are proud to bring together brands that operate with the highest safety and quality standards, ensuring every ingredient on Let Him Cook is trustworthy, healthy, and truly Kenyan.”
Dennis Njenga, Co-Founder and Head of Talent at Kaka Empire, said the project reflects a growing interest in branded content that prioritises authenticity and collaboration.
“This partnership between Kaka Empire, Bio Foods Ltd, Highlands Drinks Ltd, and Ma Cuisine Ltd represents a bold move in Kenya’s branded content space,” Njenga said. “We’re proud to lead this collaboration, bringing authentic stories, trusted products, and high-quality entertainment to audiences across platforms.”
Let Him Cook will air weekly every Monday at 8 p.m. on King Kaka’s YouTube channel.
