Owalo: Govt. committed to upgrading sporting facilities in the country

The government is heavily investing in sports Infrustracture across the country as it seeks to exploit the vast employment potential in the sports industry .

Deputy chief of staff in charge of performance and delivery management in the executive office of President Eliud Owalo revealed that efforts were afoot to ensure each county could access standard playing fields in different sports disciplines.

He spoke as he donated training kits to Vihiga United.

Owalo said the government is already upgrading  Bukhungu stadium in kakamega County to international standards, and each county across the country will enjoy similar sports infrastructure face-lift.

The former CS also challenged corporates to invest more in none institutional football clubs with wider support base as a way of supporting sports in the country..

The Deputy chief of staff also promised to get sponsor and a bus for the struggling team.Vihiga United once a premier league outfit is placed 10th on the 20 team standings with 38 points.
