Talanta FC moved two points clear of relegation zone after defeating Sofapaka 2-0 in Football Kenya Federation Premier League match played Friday at Dandora Stadium,Nairobi.
The win only their sixth in 24 matches, lifts Talanta Fc to 14th place with 26 points while the defeat leaves Sofapaka in 8th place with 33 points.
Herit Mungai’s second minute corner was headed home by Captain Bernard Odhiambo while Emmanuel Osoro scored Talanta’s second capitalizing on a spilled shot by Sofapaka goalkeeper Edward Olak.
Sofapaak headcoach rued the missed chances. ‘’The early goal did not take the wind out of our sails the players played well am happy with how we played only that we missed the chances.When we brought in Riodgers Kipkemoi and Kuloba we wanted to increase the speed Kipkemoi scored but it was ruled offside.We were not lucky today’’Said Sofapaka headcoach Ezekiel Akwana.
Talanta Fc head coach praised his charges saying :’’The players played like men.We have workd on maintaining our cleansheet which is now second consecutive.Players played according to the instructions and we are now focused on the forthcoming match’’.
