The Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) has recognised Vivo Energy Kenya for its operational excellence and leadership in the fuel supply chain, awarding it the Highest Throughput Performer Award for the 2025/26 financial year.
The recognition was made during KPC’s annual Oil Marketing Company (OMC) awards held as part of the 2026 Customer Service Week celebrations.
Vivo Energy Kenya, which markets and distributes Shell-branded fuels and lubricants in the country, recorded a throughput of 1.5 billion litres during the 2025/26 financial year, accounting for 15 per cent of the total fuel volume evacuated by oil marketing companies through the national pipeline network.
The award marks the fourth consecutive year the company has secured the title, highlighting its use of pipeline infrastructure to support reliable fuel distribution across Kenya.
The KPC OMC Recognition Awards, now in their fourth year, recognise oil marketers for optimal utilisation of the country’s petroleum infrastructure.
Speaking during the ceremony, Vivo Energy Kenya Business Support and Planning Manager Paul Kamau thanked KPC for the recognition and its continued partnership with the company.
“Vivo Energy Kenya has built a robust and resilient network that is underpinned by continuous innovation to deliver an exceptional customer experience,” Kamau said.
He noted that efficient infrastructure, quality standards and innovation remain central to the company’s efforts to provide reliable fuel supplies and customer-focused services to motorists.
Kamau added that the recognition would encourage continued improvement in service delivery, with the company focusing on quality, convenience, safety and reliability across its network.
KPC Acting Managing Director Pius Mwendwa congratulated Vivo Energy Kenya on its continued performance and high utilisation of pipeline infrastructure.
He said increasing volumes of petroleum products handled through the pipeline network were important in supporting national economic growth, strengthening downstream supply chains and enhancing energy security.
The recognition also extended to consumers, with 100 motorists and boda boda operators receiving free fuel top-ups during an activation held at Shell Adams Arcade along Ngong Road in Nairobi.
The initiative demonstrated the companies’ shared focus on connecting fuel supply chain efficiency with customer service and delivering benefits to everyday consumers.
KPC and Vivo Energy Kenya said their partnership would continue to support business growth, infrastructure development and economic activity by facilitating the efficient movement of petroleum products to businesses, industries, transport operators and communities across the country.
