Members of Parliament from various constituencies in Nyandarua County have come together in a renewed call for unity, vowing to set aside political differences that have long hindered the county’s progress.

The leaders Michael Muchira (Jororoko), Njuguna Kiaraho (Olkalou), and Zachary Thuku (Kinangop) declared that time had come to end the internal wrangles and instead focus on delivering development to the people of Nyandarua.

Speaking during a rare joint appearance, the MPs acknowledged that years of infighting and division had stalled meaningful development. They emphasized the importance of working together to transform the region and uplift residents’ livelihoods.

“We’ve wasted enough time on petty politics and selfish interests. It is now time to put Nyandarua first,” said Michael Muchira.

The MPs noted that the county had endured challenges due to leadership disputes, with some confessing that the political tension had derailed their core responsibilities to the electorate.

They announced a new spirit of cooperation and called on residents to shun divisive politics, saying the unity among leaders will ensure that Nyandarua reaps the benefits of national development programs.

“There is no time for empty talk anymore. People want results, and we are ready to work together to deliver,” said Kinangop MP Thuku.

The leaders cited ongoing and upcoming projects such as the proposed Nyandarua University, a new Level 5 hospital, and improved road infrastructure in Olkalou as indicators that the county is on the path to transformation provided unity and focus are maintained.

They urged the public to support development-driven leadership and reject political incitement, declaring that Nyandarua’s future lies in cooperation, not conflict.
