Kenyan musicians Njoki Karu, Billy Black and Kadawa are among the artists set to perform at the return of Sondeka Festival, which will take place on September 12 at The Junction Mall.

The festival, organised by Creatives Garage as part of its 2026 UKKE Season Legacy Project, will bring together musicians, filmmakers, fashion designers and other creatives for a day celebrating Kenya’s multidisciplinary creative scene.

Joining Karu, Black and Kadawa on the music lineup are Koso Koseso, Shishi Wanj and Breathren.

Sondeka has previously established itself as a platform for emerging and established creatives, with Creatives Garage describing it as one of Kenya’s biggest gatherings of innovative creatives.

“Sondeka is one of the biggest gatherings of innovative creatives across Kenya, and the beginning of many artistic associations that result in amazing platforms for legends such as H_art The Band, Mercy Myra, Euticus and more,” organisers said in a statement seen exclusively by KBC Digital.

The event will also continue Creatives Garage’s broader focus on creating spaces where artists and audiences can meet, experiment and collaborate. Through its Legacy Project, the organisation says it “creates meaningful public experiences that leave behind stronger networks, new collaborations, cultural documentation, and innovative approaches to storytelling.”

Sondeka Festival will run from noon to 9 pm, with free entry to the public. Attendees are required to register ahead of the September 12 event.
