President Ruto to presides over Memorial Service of Gen Francis Ogolla

President William Ruto Saturday presided over the Military Honours and Memorial Service of the late Chief of Defence Forces General, Francis Ogolla.

Speaking at a memorial service held at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Lang’ata, President Ruto described the fallen general as a gallant officer who showed his military prowess since he joined the service.

The honors include a Church service, military parade and a 19-gun salute.

The event is currently underway at the Ulinzi sports complex situated along Langata Road, in Nairobi County.

Various ambassadors, high commissioners, and international dignitaries are present at General Francis Ogolla’s Military Honours Ceremony at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Nairobi.

Other leaders gracing the occassion include Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, senior govt officials, the leadership of Parliament, the Judiciary, political leaders, commanders of security sector.

General Ogolla passed on Thursday afternoon alongside nine other military officers in a helicopter crash in Elgeyo Marakwet County.

The late General Ogolla will be burial on Sunday 21st April 2024, in Mor, Alego, Siaya County.

Thereafter, on Friday, April 26, there will be a Requiem Mass at the Ulinzi Sports Complex, Lang’ata, Nairobi.
