NOC-K ELECTIONS: Shadrack Maluki throws hat in the ring,unveils 10-member team

Under his unveiled line up  AK Youth Director Barnaba Korir is his proposed 1st vice president  while Kenya Hockey Union President Nahashon Randiek will vie for the second vice president’s position.

Kenya Judo Federation President Shadrack Maluki has announced his candidature for the National Olympic Committee of Kenya NOC-K Presidency aiming  to succeed Paul Tergat, who has served a maximum of two terms in Office and will therefore not defend his seat.

Maluki, who is the current NOC-K 1st President, a position he has served for a period of 8 years, said he is running for presidency with his focus being on bettering the athletes welfare, upholding of integrity, inclusivity and ensuring financial prudence in management of the affairs of the committee.

Maluki who is also the Africa Judo Federation President unveiled his candidature  on Monday together with his 10-member team of candidates vying for several positions under the  ‘New Dawn Fresh Nock’ tagline.

Under his unveiled line up  AK Youth Director Barnaba Korir is his proposed 1st vice president  while Kenya Hockey Union President Nahashon Randiek will vie for the second vice president’s position.

Table Tennis President Andrew Mudibo will be vying for the position of the secretary general, with the Softball Association of Kenya  chair, Francis Karugu, gunning for deputy Secretary General post while Fencing Federation President Fred Chege is vying for the treasurer’s post and will be deputised by Charles Mose from the cycling federation.

Two-time Olympic marathon champion Eliud Kipchoge has been fronted as an athlete rep, while Lilian Mududa, Joyceline Nyambura and Rugby President Sasha Mutai, will be going for the committee members positions.

29 delegates from NOC-K affiliated sports federations will participate in the elections set for 24th of this month.
