The 4th Kenya Affordable Housing Conference (KAHC 2025), hosted by the Kenya Mortgage Refinance Company (KMRC),will be held on 7–8 August 2025 at the Grand Royal Swiss Hotel, Kisumu County.
Under the theme “Revolutionizing Housing: Innovation Meets Sustainability,” the conference brings together over 250 leaders from government, finance, construction, academia, and development to shape the future of Kenya’s housing sector.
The KAHC serves as Kenya’s premier platform for public-private dialogue on affordable housing delivery.

The two-day forum will spotlight innovative and sustainable practices across the housing value chain from green construction and efficient technologies to inclusive finance instruments and the role of regulations in expanding access for low- and middle-income households.
The conference brings together more than 250 public and private sector leaders.
The opening plenary will feature keynote addresses from Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o, Governor, Kisumu County & Chair, Council of Governors Committee on Housing, John Mbadi Ng’ong’o, Cabinet Secretary, National Treasury and Economic Planning.
Others include; Alice Wahome, Cabinet Secretary, Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development and Charles Hinga, Principal Secretary, State Department for Housing and Urban Development
The conference programme blends high-level plenaries with policy insights, spotlighting topics such as green affordable housing, risk-sharing facilities, product innovations to support inclusive housing finance, and the evolving role of counties in co-financing infrastructure.
International delegates from India, Malaysia, Tanzania, and Pakistan will share global best practices from institutions such as TMRC, PMRC, and Cagamas.
“If our housing solutions aren’t designed to meet Kenyans where they are especially the 80% working in the informal economy, we will never close the housing gap. That’s why KAHC is different. It’s not just a policy forum; it’s a place where theory meets practice,” said Johnstone Oltetia, CEO of KMRC.
County-Led Housing
A highlight of the conference is the guided tour of Kisumu’s flagship housing developments in Makasembo, Anderson-Ofafa, and Lumumba Estate where delegates will witness how policy is being translated into real homes for Kenyans.
These site visits bring policy to life, demonstrating how national programmes and county partnerships are delivering tangible outcomes.
Media representatives are invited to attend the event and engage with speakers during scheduled briefings and interviews.
Accredited journalists will have access to curated press materials, real-time updates, and guided project tours in Kisumu County.
