Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has announced that the Jubilee Party is “back on track” and is set to prepare vigorously for the 2027 General Election, intending to field candidates for all elective positions nationwide.

Speaking during the party’s special National Delegates Convention (NDC) in Nairobi, Kenyatta reaffirmed his commitment to revitalising the party into a formidable political force founded on inclusivity, national unity, and transparency.

“Make no mistake when I say that, like any other political party, we (Jubilee Party) shall be preparing for the next General Election, and doing so in earnest. It remains our firm intention to field the best possible candidates for all elective positions,” he said.

Uhuru underscored that Jubilee’s founding vision was to create a true national party that unites Kenyans from all walks of life, rather than one divided by region or ethnicity.

He pledged that the party would provide equal opportunities to all aspiring leaders, irrespective of their background or social status.

The former Head of State further stressed that Jubilee would no longer tolerate corruption or the sale of party tickets to the highest bidder, a practice he claimed had marred past nominations.

Uwazi utakuweko katika mchakato ambao tutafuata,” he stated.

Kenyatta reassured delegates that under his leadership, Jubilee would maintain transparency and fairness in selecting its candidates.

His remarks come at a time when the former ruling party has been relatively quiet in national politics since the 2022 General Election. Uhuru stated that the renewed effort aims to provide a strong platform for visionary leaders and offer Kenyans a “vibrant set of options” in line with the country’s democratic ideals.
