Kenyan rapper Lil Maina has announced he will be performing at the upcoming Kikuyu Love Sessions on October 24.
The upcoming edition, centred on Kikuyu music, culture, love, and social connection and dubbed the “Slightly Scandalous Edition,” will take place at the Ngong Racecourse Waterfront 1, Nairobi.
Kikuyu Love Sessions is not new to Kenya’s entertainment calendar; the first edition took place in February, 2023, bringing together more than 150 people. The event featured performances from emerging Kikuyu musicians and activities including therapy painting.
The second edition followed in October, 2023, continuing the platform’s focus on contemporary Kikuyu music while celebrating Agikuyu culture.
The sessions have since adopted different themes. In May 2025, Mothers and Melodies brought a Mother’s Day focus to the event, blending folk music with tributes to mothers.
Later that year, the More Than Friends edition became the sixth Kikuyu Love Sessions event. It featured artists including Ayrosh, Mutoriah, Wyre, Muringi Matheri and Nyawira Siren, with performances spanning traditional Kikuyu sounds and contemporary music.
Lil Maina’s upcoming appearance introduces a hip-hop and entertainment angle to the evolving event.
